James Cracknell fronts Cycle Safety campaign with a powerful plea
Thursday, July 21, 2011
Pay a visit to The Mill's basement and you'll be confronted with
a vast array of bicycles belonging to the ever-growing number of
cyclists who brave the London traffic everyday to ride to and from
work.
Yesterday marked exactly a year to the day when double Olympic
medallist and all-round action man, James Cracknell was knocked off
his bike in a near-fatal accident that left him in a critical
condition and resulted in brain damage. To mark the one year
anniversary of the accident that nearly cost him his life, James is
fronting a special Cycle Safety campaign with a
new spot entitled 'Wear a Helmet', as his, quite simply, saved his
life.
Alongside AMV and director Chino Moya, we helped create the
thought-provoking film which features James telling the story of
his accident and emphasizing the importance of wearing a crash
helmet by describing the nature of his injuries whilst x-ray style
images show the internal damage done to his head and skull.
Makes you think twice about going for a ride without a
helmet...
Powerful stuff.
