Mill Learning

Of course, at The Mill we are biased, but we think that the visual effects industry is one of the most dynamic you can work in. It's fun, creative, hard work, rewarding and full of very clever and talented people.  You get to work across an incredible range of diverse projects and create moving image for commercials, television programmes, movies and online virals - in fact for any screen you can think of. The only limitation is your imagination.

Right now the VFX industry needs new and young talent, so if you are creative and tech-savvy, it could be the career for you.

The skill set you need to work in visual effects combines various disciplines: you'll need to have a problem-solving mind; enjoy technologies - computer and engineering; have a strong affinity with maths and science, and finally, an artistic and creative aptitude.

Open Evenings

We are continuously looking for new talent with the desire to work in the VFX industry and are always on the hunt to encourage new talent into the industry.

Our Open Evenings are aimed at those who are passionate about the VFX industry, but are unsure of how to get that foot in the door. We can help!

The evening will be a chance for you to meet like-minded people as well as some of The Mill's leading talent who will be able to guide you through what to put in your showreels (and what not!), what entry level positions are available as well as lots of their own work which you can pick their brains about.

If you are interested in applying, please send a cover letter, your CV and any relevant work via email to recruitment@themill.com with 'Open Evening' in the tagline.

Learning News

We have been working alongside Skillset, an independent UK-wide organisation that works with both industry and government to identify and tackle the skills and productivity needs of creative industries throughout the UK.

A successful collaboration with Skillset, Archer's Mark, UK Screen Association and various UK VFX companies has resulted in these two films which explain more about our industry, what it needs and how you can be a part of it:
