Mill+ design director Phil Robson, also known as FILFURY, continued his foray into the world of sneakers, in a recent collaboration with Size?
A self-confessed sneaker head, Phil has already collaborated with Adidas, Nike and Reebok over the past 12 months and December 2014 saw the latest collaboration take shape with UK retailer Size?
In addition to designing and directing motion graphics for commercials, he works across a number of mediums and projects in his spare time, combining his passion for mixing live action and graphic design.
Phil was tasked with creating a 3D dimensional sculpture to mark the opening of new Size? Store in Amsterdam. With the brief to create something large, visual and on-brand, he set about designing a bold piece of work using their iconic question mark logo as inspiration.
The final product was over 4m high and is pictured here. Each layer was cut and painted from MDF and Perspex, then coated and hung from the ceiling with at different lengths to create an effect that came to life as customers walked up the stairs to the mezzanine.
As well as the in-store sculpture, Phil created a hoarding that wrapped the exterior of the shop whilst the transformation project took place, basing the design on a giant shoebox.
