Last night, D&AD announced this year's award winners, celebrating the best in design, advertising and digital work from the past year. The iconic and coveted pencils, one of the most recognised and sought after accolades in the creative industry, were handed out to winners at the highly anticipated new look D&AD awards ceremony.
Led by Creative Director Carl Addy and Director Ivo Sousa, Mill+ continued their ongoing collaboration with the prestigious D&AD awards once again this year, creating the concept, design, art direction and animation for the 2016 opening title sequence and ceremony teaser.
Hosted at Battersea Evolution, the evening was, as ever, packed full of original, inspirational and creatively excellent work. A huge congratulations goes out to all of the evening's winners.
The Mill were thrilled to have picked up five pencils; a Yellow for our work on The Chemical Brothers ‘Wide Open’, in collaboration with Outsider, Virgin Records and directed by Dom&Nic.
Two Graphites went to BBH’s Audi ‘Birth’, directed by Andrew Proctor, out of Mill+ and BFI’s ‘Film is Fragile’, directed by Mill+’s Carl Addy.
SSE ‘Pier’, a collaboration with adam&eveDDB and Frederic Planchon of Academy Films also picked up a Wood pencil.
To top off an incredible night, we were also awarded a Silver in the highly coveted Black pencil category for Most Awarded Creative Company working in Craft / Production.
