This was by far the largest, most ambitious project for PokerStars to date, with 17 different TVCs and a number of different styles - incorporating work from 2D, 3D, studio and TK. The commercials were shot in Barcelona and Madrid over a three week period, using a number of different formats: Alexa, Phantom, Red, DSLR, Go Pro and 16mm. Our 2D team, led by artist Ben Turner, enjoyed the challenges that a head replacement of a wolf, a man falling in slow motion onto a pavement and turning a poker player into a demon brought about, along with several complicated green screen composites. 3D work included building a snake-like whip, large neon signs on a rooftop, an exploding hall of mirrors and some giant bubbles.
Producer, Andrew Sommerville explains "Continuing our long-running collaborative relationship with PokerStars, this is their most ambitious project to date. Each shot we worked on presented its own unique challenge, which allowed us to draw on our diverse talent pool and combine a number of different techniques. It's not every day that you get to produce a job this diverse - the whole team just ran with it and we're all hugely proud of the end result."
