'West of Expected' is a quirky campaign that sends up the snobby cocktail culture and believes that everything can be made better with a little fresh thinking. In this spot, the Skyy scientist speaks to the importance of opposites coming together to create something surprisingly satisfying.
Scott Johnson led the 2D team in compositing the cosmos footage into the dome on stage to amp up the planetarium look: "When we first started working on the project, the director and the agency creatives and I did a google search for planetarium domes. We found a few different types and settled on the most visually interesting. The most challenging issue was adding a depth to the sky element: by warping the sky and adding a slight perspective grid, we came to a version everyone was pleased with."
