Usain Bolt is best known for being the fastest 100m runner in the world, but meet the Bolt family - a whole clan of old, young, male and female Usain Bolt's, taking advantage of Virgin Media's extra fast broadband.
Created by BBH, the spot shows the Jamaican athlete (as himself) watching his favourite team in the front room, while a younger version plays on his PlayStation 4 and Grandpa Bolt chats to female friends online. Mrs Bolt explains that she is watching her favourite athlete, only for the sprinter to come in and see that she is watching a Mo Farah race.
Mill producer Rachel Stones comments, "The main challenge on this project was time. As with any sports star you get a limited slot so we didn't have the luxury of working in the Eddie Murphy "The Klumpfs" approach. The time required for make up and costume would have almost certainly ruled the script out entirely! But with the help of Blink we figured out a way we could utilise post to make this happen - head replacements! We then shot the family members' bodies and Usain's head seperately and our expert post production team then composited the two together seamlessly."
