The subject matter of the spot explores the blurry world of the film's title character, Ben, as he learns to cope with the loss of his late grandfather—developing an immediate fondness for his newly inherited spectacles. However, through those old lenses, Ben finds it difficult to adjust to a life out of focus.
Graded by Mill Chicago’s Head-of-Colour Luke Morrison, he explains “…With the grade, I went for a clean and natural feel giving the different scenes some variance of tone to enforce the passage of time.” The film closes on Ben, whom after having his lenses replaced at a Pearle Vision Optical, can see clearly without sacrificing his grandfather’s frames.
