Droga5 and Diet Coke take a woman back in time in 'Car Wash,' along with Smuggler director Filip Engstrom and The Mill for this this cheerful addition to the 'Get a Taste' campaign. As the woman is driving into the car wash, she pops open her Diet Coke, and is instantly transformed into a Roaring Twenties party scene, filled with music, flappers, bubbles and swing dancing. She is snapped back to reality once her car comes to a stop, and is squeaky clean.
The Mill team led by creative director Yann Mabille worked on developing and altering the CG bubbles and confetti. They were executed in a way that helped seamlessly integrate the additional elements into the scenes. The energy and busyness was enhanced by combining separate shots of people, adding to the crowded party atmosphere.
The spot travels through a parallel universe where a car wash is almost as fun as drinking the fizzy beverage. Now If only life tasted as good as Diet Coke!
