It's great to be working with Sam Brown and WCRS again with
creatives Simon and Jo for the latest BMW spot Eclipse spot.
The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe comes to life in this new commercial,
as it crashes through the earth's atmosphere within the shadows of
a solar eclipse.
Mike Chapman The Mill's 3D lead explains his role "After
spending a lot of time and detail studying solar eclipse
references, sun surface textures and solar storms we got completely
stuck in and re-created all of the beautiful solar shots in the
spot."
Chris Batten, The Mill's VFX Producer adds "While we developed
and created the solar eclipse, storms and the sun the director, Sam
Brown and the Rogue crew flew to the LA salt flats to shoot the
live action sequences along with very specific practical FX plates
for us so we could later comp around the car. The end
result is a beautiful piece of work."
