Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes when you check your bag in at the airport? Well we got to find out all about the incredible 17km underground maze of high speed conveyor belts that make up Europe's largest baggage handling system at London Heathrow's Terminal 5, for this new brand spot for British Airways created by BBH and directed by Neil Gorringe through Moxie.
As BA passengers from around the globe check in their cases, so
begins an international race - bag vs bag - to the finish line at
the world's busiest airport. The spot follows each bag's
journey, all jostling for position, and it's a race to the end with
the surprise winner pulling a dramatic last minute overtaking
manoeuvre to cross the line and take the chequered flag.
Our Flame team helped give the spot its truly international feel
by giving each of the far-flung destinations their own very
distinctive look as well as including subtle local detailing.
Alongside this, our Colourist Seamus O'Kane finessed the final
images to give the film its colourful and vibrant international
feel.
The campaign launched on first BA's Facebook page and made its TV
debut during ITV1's Coronation Street on February 10th.
