Summary
In our first collaboration with Frontdesk Finland, we have helped create ‘Immigrant’ a new spot for directory service Fonecta’s text service - 16000 - which allows customers to find out who called them.
The full 90 second television ad features an elderly gentleman,
clearly approaching the end of his life, take a reminiscent journey
down memory lane. The spot contains evocative and atmospheric
scenes from key events throughout his life. The man then
attempts to ring his estranged son, but the young man fails to
answer the phone as he doesn't know who is calling him. The
spot closes with the old man gazing sadly out at the Helsinki night
skyline with the strap line "An unknown number could be the most
important number of your life".
Neil Davies, Lead Flame on the project said, "Some shots were
treated to look older by combining print and negative in Flame. We
also integrated newly shot footage of the young boy into 1920's
stock footage by carefully matching the feel, look and artefacts of
the original."
Colourist Adam Scott's stunning grade on the spot went on to
earn him a BTA Craft Award for Best Telecine.
