As we like it – Google+
Adam and Eve, Mad Cow's director Simon Ellis and The Mill have
created the first UK Google Plus commercial.
The 90-second spot, entitled 'Google+ Tom', has the resonant
voice of Benedict Cumberbatch reading 'The Seven Ages of Man' from
'As You Like It' by William Shakespeare. As the story unfolds
we follow the life of Tom, an everyman, as he lives and shares his
life on the Google+ platform.
Mill editor Charlotte Carr and a team of AFX animators worked
tirelessly to ensure every minute detail was accurate even down to
the pixels and smiley faces.
The Mill also created the final edit, the visual effects, the UI
animations and it was all finished up colourist Aubrey
Woodiwiss.
Luke Colson, who produced the spot, explains: "It's a great
honour to work with Ben and his very clever team at Adam and Eve
and Simon Ellis. Allowing Google+ to work alongside the voiceover
from Benedict Cumberbatch was a pure stroke of genius."
