The Mill, BBH and MJZ have joined forces to produce ‘Sleeping Beauty’ the new 60 second spot for LG Touch. Directed by Blue Source ‘Sleeping Beauty' gives a modern twist to the classic fairytale with its industrial tone.
Shunning the original storyline, the Prince wakens Sleeping
Beauty from her slumber in a magical LG factory instead of a castle
as the original tale would have us believe. Arriving at
the dark and lifeless factory in search of his Princess, he brings
life to the factory through the power of touch.
CG Effects' Supervisor, Tom Bussell said: "The CG elements
at the end of the film show disintegration of the old button
technology. This was an effect that has not been done before
in film or commercial. We could see keeping the
disintegration within brief worked much better using CG rather than
practical effects in camera."
He added: "We also had to create holograms of an escalator and
Sleeping Beauty. For Sleeping Beauty, we had to build an
accurate model of her face in CG and project manipulated live
action plates to create the digital look whilst keeping the subtle
skin tones of her face."
