Summary
MUBI, Sony, director PK and The Mill have joined forces to create the launch promo for 'MUBI, PlayStation's latest development that allows users to watch, discover and share movies through their Playstation.
MUBI was founded by Efe Cakarel, and boasts members that include
Martin Scorsese, the website allows you to watch and download
films, share thoughts, make friends and generally absorb yourself
in the greatest movie moments and some of the rarest cinematic
treats of all time.
We briefed Creative Director, PK, who set to work on the design
and feel, opting for Saul Bass as our reference point. Working
closely with MUBI, we crafted the script and produced detailed
storyboards and illustrations. The Mill's animation team
brought the concept to life working closely with PK.
PK tells us: "MUBI was an opportunity to be involved with a
cutting-edge client and service. The project was written,
illustrated, animated and directed in-house. A great brief,
switched-on client and brilliant team effort from The
Mill."
The sound design was created by Radium who composed a track to
suit the feel of the site and film, and compliment the seven
languages that we needed to record the script in.
Mill Studio's Executive Producer Luke Colson explains:
"The guys at MUBI were such a pleasure to work with, always smiling
and very enthusiastic. It definitely shows in the tone of the
final film which we are delighted with. We have wanted to be
able to apply our 2D design and animation talents to a project like
this all year!"
