Hugues Namur - VFX Supervisor

Hugues Namur is a VFX Supervisor at The Mill, bringing over 25 years of experience in visual effects, graphic arts and film production. Following the integration of MPC Paris into The Mill in June 2026, he continues to bring his extensive expertise to the supervision of visual effects for feature films, working alongside some of the most acclaimed French and international filmmakers.

His interest in computer-generated imagery began in the early 1990s, when access to CG tools was still limited. He started his career as a matte painter in advertising before quickly embracing 3D production and training on Maya as soon as the software became available. Over the years, he developed a broad expertise spanning CG pipelines, digital environments, character work and complex visual effects supervision.

In 2001, he began collaborating with Mikros Image as a freelance VFX Supervisor on feature films, including Costa-Gavras’ Amen and Alain Berbérian’s Le Boulet. He joined the company in 2005, establishing a long-standing career in feature film visual effects. With a strong technical background and a creative approach to problem-solving, he has contributed to an exceptionally diverse range of projects, from the photorealistic imagery of Jacques Perrin’s Oceans to the imaginative worlds of Michel Hazanavicius’ The Lost Prince.

With more than 80 feature films to his credit, his work includes Asterix at the Olympic Games, Roschdy Zem’s Chocolat, Emmanuel Finkiel’s Memoir of War, Ari Folman’s The Congress, Paul Verhoeven’s Elle, Alain Chabat’s Santa & Cie and Alice Winocour’s Proxima.

His projects have received numerous international awards and nominations, including César and European Film Awards recognition. In 2021, he was named to the Academia Mexicana de Artes for his contribution to Michel Franco’s Nuevo Orden. He subsequently won the GENIE Award for Best Visual Effects in 2022 for the television series Around the World in 80 Days, and again in 2023 for the Prime Video series Totems.

His more recent credits include Bertrand Bonello’s The Beast, Bruno Dumont’s The Empire, the feature film Drone and the short film Allégorie Citadine. His work reflects a versatility that spans cinematic genres, visual styles and formats, combining technical precision, creative vision and a deep understanding of the filmmaking process.

Today, as part of The Mill's Paris team, Hugues Namur continues to bring his experience and passion for visual storytelling to ambitious film and television productions.
