The Festival also organises retrospectives and tributes to major figures as a contribution towards a better understanding of the history of cinema.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cul>\n\u003Cli>\u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.labiennale.org\u002Fen\u002Fcinema\u002F2023\u002Fvenezia-80-competition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.labiennale.org\u002Fen\u002Fcinema\u002F2023\u002Fvenezia-80-competition\">Films in Competition:\u003C\u002Fa>\u003C\u002Fli>\n\u003C\u002Ful>\n\u003Cp>\u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.mpcvfx.com\u002Fen\u002Ffilmography\u002Fdogman\u002F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-type=\"project\" data-id=\"76152\">Dogman\u003C\u002Fa>, directed by \u003Cstrong>Luc Besson\u003C\u002Fstrong>. The MPC teams in Paris and Bangalore, under the supervision of Laurent Larapidie for visual effects creation and \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.mpcvfx.com\u002Fen\u002Fnews\u002Fspotlight-on-alice-neichols-vfx-producer\u002F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"76270\">Alice Neichols\u003C\u002Fa> for VFX production, crafted over 300 shots. These shots included tasks such as rejuvenation, multi-layered image compositions for scenes involving dogs, and background compositing.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>La Bête\u003C\u002Fstrong>, directed by \u003Cstrong>Bertrand Bonello\u003C\u002Fstrong>. The MPC Paris teams created around fifty shots for the film under the supervision of Hugues Namur. The post-production teams took care of the rushes and the DI.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cdiv class=\"container\">\n\u003Cdiv class=\"gallery-wrapper\">\n\u003Cdiv class=\"grid-1-up --16-9\">\n\u003Cdiv class=\"ratio-16-9\">\u003Cimg src=\"https:\u002F\u002Fmedia.mpcvfx.com\u002Fapp\u002Fuploads\u002F2023\u002F08\u002FLa-bete-1280x853.jpg\" alt=\"\">\u003Cstrong>The Killer\u003C\u002Fstrong>, directed by \u003Cstrong>David Fincher\u003C\u002Fstrong>.
