Béatrice Bauwens: "Today Marks the Beginning of a New Chapter"

When The Mill and MPC officially came together under a single brand this June, it marked more than a new identity. It marked the continuation of a creative journey built over decades by the artists, supervisors, producers and technologists behind some of the most ambitious film and series projects of recent years.

For Béatrice Bauwens, Head of Film & Series at The Mill, this new chapter is rooted in a long-standing heritage.

“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter, built on decades of craft and expertise developed by the MPC and Mikros Image teams. By adopting The Mill brand, we are formalizing the coming together of two teams that have long shared the same creative standards and ambitions.”

That heritage stretches back through the history of Mikros Image and MPC in France, where generations of artists helped shape projects ranging from auteur-driven cinema to large-scale international productions. It is a legacy built on creative collaboration, technical excellence, and a belief that visual effects should always serve the story.

As the role of VFX continues to evolve, filmmakers are embracing increasingly ambitious creative possibilities. Recent productions such as Emilia Pérez, The Last Duel, Anatomy of a Fall, Under Paris and Dracula: A Love Tale demonstrate the breadth of work developed by our Film & Series teams, from invisible effects and environment work to large-scale CG and complex simulations.

“The ongoing evolution of the tools allows new possibilities to be offered to filmmakers and producers, pushing the limits of our craft again,” says Bauwens. “At the end of the day, it is about how to make the trick help the story.”

Today, under The Mill brand, that philosophy remains unchanged.

"Film & Series continues to bring together award-winning artists and production teams across Europe and beyond, combining world-class creative craft with the scale, technology and global reach of TransPerfect. The name may be new for some of our Film & Series clients, but the people, expertise and creative ambition behind the work remain the same. This is not the start of a new story. It is the next chapter of one that has been decades in the making."
