The Mill brings the poster for L’Âge d’Or to life

The poster for Bérenger Thouin’s L’Âge d’Or (The Golden Age) is finally here.

Following our VFX work on the film, The Mill was proud to contribute to the creation of its poster, extending the project’s distinctive visual language beyond the screen. The image brings together contemporary performances and authentic historical archive footage, combining VFX, compositing and image restoration to create a striking connection between past and present.

At the heart of the project is the dialogue between fiction and history. Directed by Bérenger Thouin and produced by GoGoGo Films, L’Âge d’Or explores this relationship through a carefully crafted visual world in which contemporary imagery meets real archival material. The Mill’s VFX team helped bring these elements together, preserving the texture and authenticity of the historical footage while seamlessly integrating it with newly created imagery.

For the poster, VFX Supervisor Hugues Namur brought his expertise from the film to the campaign image, contributing to its creation alongside his work supervising the project’s visual effects.

The result is a poster that echoes the film itself: a meeting point between different eras, techniques and images, where restoration and visual effects work together to make history feel immediate and alive.
