Venice 2025: Grand Ciel Selected for Orizzonti

The 82nd Venice International Film Festival has unveiled its official selection, bringing together an exciting lineup of filmmakers including Paolo Sorrentino, François Ozon, Park Chan-wook and Cédric Jimenez. Taking place from August 27 to September 6, the festival once again highlights some of the most anticipated voices in contemporary cinema.

We are proud to celebrate the selection of Grand Ciel, directed by Akihiro Hata, in the Orizzonti section. Produced by Good Fortune Films and Les Films Fauves, the social thriller follows a night-shift construction worker investigating the mysterious disappearances of colleagues on the site of a futuristic urban development.

The film's visual effects were crafted by The Mill film & feries (formerly MPC Paris), with Hugues Namur serving as VFX Supervisor and Bastien Halter contributing as Environment Artist and Matte Painter. The team's work supported the film's grounded, atmospheric vision, seamlessly integrating visual effects into its realistic aesthetic.
