30 Years of The Mill | Director, Gundeep Anand

To celebrate ‘30 Years Of The Mill’ we are turning our focus to the extraordinary people behind our creativity. We asked a snapshot of 30 Makers from across The Mill to share their most inspiring projects from the past, alongside their future-facing insights on the advertising industry and evolution of creative technology. Next up we have Director and former Mill runner Gundeep Anand who discusses how Major Lazer's 'Lean On' helped him win his first directorial job and how the people who care the most will win over the next ten years.

What piece of Mill work do you see as the most pioneering or one that pushed the boundaries of production creativity & why?

There are so many, from various FIFA adverts to Major Lazer’s ‘Lean On’, that promo inspired me so much that I listened to the song on loop for 8hrs while writing my very first treatment (which I won).

I didn’t really know this industry existed, my mate told me about The Mill and the work that was being produced, after seeing it I knew I had to be here.

What will be the most defining change in the creative industry over the next decade?

I believe the most defining change will be our conscious efforts to care and spread love, the people that care the most will win.
