30 Years of The Mill | Lead Lighting Artist, Gauri Razdan

To celebrate ‘30 Years Of The Mill’ we are turning our focus to the extraordinary people behind our creativity. We asked a snapshot of 30 Makers from across The Mill to share their most inspiring projects from the past, alongside their future-facing insights on the advertising industry and evolution of creative technology. Next up we have Lead Lighting Artist, Gauri Razdan who discusses how revolutionary The Mill's BLACKBIRD has been and the importance of exploring new technology.

What piece of Mill work do you see as the most pioneering & why?

The Mill’s most pioneering piece of work and the one I admire the most is The ‘‘BLACKBIRD‘. It uses such incredible technology in which a rig can be instantly transformed into any car with the correct movement, lidar scanning and HDRI for each frame- working in lighting this is incredibly helpful for me and the other artists.

What do you feel is going to be the most defining change in the next 10 years?

The world is changing rapidly and so is the way we live. I’ve worked at The Mill for 4 years – my journey started from the 10th floor to the 7th floor to the 4th floor and now I’m working from home. I see The Mill adapting to these changes and exploring new technology as we have always done while still creating incredible work.
