2020 has been a monumental year for many reasons, not least because it marks a major milestone in The Mill’s history: it’s been 30 years since we opened our first creative studio in London. Since 1990 we have launched studios in five other international locations: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Bangalore & Berlin. All of our studios share the same ambition: To create memorable work that excites and captivates audiences.
As specialists in creative technologies and production, our work now includes the creation of digital products and virtual experiences, whilst still leading in world-class visual effects and video production. Over the past 30 years, we’ve created the world’s most realistic CG Orangutan, collaborated on over 500 music videos and more recently, tattooed a person remotely using 5G.
To celebrate ‘30 Years Of The Mill’ we are turning our focus to the extraordinary people behind our creativity. Our teams of thinkers, designers, artists, directors, producers, developers, colourists, coders, technicians, editors, animators, writers – our doers and makers. Everything these people do makes great ideas come to life.
We asked a snapshot of 30 Makers from across The Mill to share their most inspiring projects from the past. We also asked for their future-facing insights on the advertising industry and evolution of creative technology.
We would like to thank everyone who has been part of our history – our clients, our partners, our collaborators and our staff past and present. All of you have been central to making our first 30 years so extraordinary.
