We worked with Coty and Burberry Beauty to create social AR effects for two of their signature products – Burberry Her perfume and Burberry Kisses lipstick. The filters were creatively led by The Mill’s Annie Keogh who collaborated closely with the Burberry Beauty team to ensure the effects reflected the vision of Global Beauty Director Isamaya Ffrench.
The creative challenge for the Burberry ‘Her’ perfume effect was to visually represent the four fragrances through a series of abstract facial works of art. Taking inspiration from the ingredients of each scent, the team combined realistic 3D florals with digital makeup to create four striking augmented reality looks.
For the Burberry ‘Kisses’ lipstick effect our challenge was to accurately replicate the product on both the selfie and world lens. This AR effect allows the user to try on the lipstick in six shades with a realistic satin texture, and place a 3D rendering of the product in their space on the world lens. In order to further amplify the effect and link to the campaign we also developed impactful colour transitions as you switch between the six product shades.
