Crafting a sandstorm of epic proportions for XBOX ‘Forza Horizon 5’

Adventure awaits in XBOX’s latest spot for the highly anticipated open-world driving game, Forza Horizon 5. We teamed up with Directors Los Pérez, Caviar and 215 McCann to deliver a hair-raising and colourful cinematic trailer in anticipation of the game’s release.

Forza Horizon 5 features the largest, most diverse open world ever in a Forza Horizon game set against a vibrant, ever-evolving landscape of Mexico with limitless driving action in hundreds of the world’s greatest cars in which our VFX team worked to seamlessly translate the lush environment of the game into a live-action trailer.

“We were tasked with asset builds of the broken bridge, the aqueduct, the tunnel and the beach road – including proxy models for the driver. We also contributed to the sandstorm shots. The project needed a handful of shots where a massive sandstorm was chasing the driver,” shares Bangalore CG Lead Amit Patil. “Once we watched the edit, we all agreed that the sandstorm needed to be scary and more energetic. We added extra simulations to the shots, and we were very happy with the result – the icing on the cake was the dust and debris.”
