Mill Mascot brings M&M’S to life to introduce Super Bowl LV

Mill Mascot brings beloved spokescandy, Yellow, to life to host M&M's 'Big Game Commercial Premiere'.
Work February 9, 2021

Before this year’s big game, M&M’S invited 50,000 fans to a virtual watch party of the their Super Bowl LV ad.

The event was hosted on Zoom by Yellow, one of M&M’s beloved characters, who was brought to life using Mill Mascot: The Mill’s virtual production system helping meet clients’ needs for sharp-witted and responsive characters.

Fans watched on as Yellow started the watch party while still on mute – a now ubiquitous mishap during video calls – he then took questions, and even interacted with a few guests.

Mill Mascot enables broadcast quality CG characters that are performed live and in realtime – rather than animated – all using game engine technology with motion sensors, so characters can be puppeteered through hand and facial gestures. This gives directors, creatives, and artists the ability to “direct” or “perform” CG character animation live and make creative decisions on the fly.

Yellow was performed by puppeteer, David Bizzaro and directed by Mill Creative Director Jeffrey Dates.
