After a number of successful collaborations with musicians around the world, Balenciaga has teamed up with the Parisian electro-oriental music group ‘Acid Arab’ for a limited-edition textile collection.
Designer Demna Gvasalia, known for his daring artistic choices, was seduced by the band’s contemporary sounds. The fluorescent green unisex collection is inspired by the graphic codes of the electro world and is accompanied by a new playlist available via streaming. To highlight the collection, our Parisian talents did a meticulous integration work on the clothes, taking care to respect the textures and movements.
“My work on Balenciaga consisted first of all in erasing all the inscriptions on the clothes. This restore allows to have a plain tshirt. In a second step, we had to reinsert the new logos and the graphic identity of the Acid Arab line. We did this using Mocha Pro's mesh tracking, which, unlike standard 2D tracking, preserves the fine ripples and deformations of the fabric. So we were able to retain the movement and texture of the garment. It was great to work on this project with all the artists from The Mill, a successful team effort! ”
