Patrick Coleman appointed as Head of Design at The Mill Chicago

News June 3, 2021

We’re excited to announce more growth in our creative leadership team with the appointment of Patrick Coleman as the Head of Design in Chicago.

With over a decade of experience with a focus in 3D motion design, Coleman’s beginnings began at OPTIMUS in 2004. He then went on to become Creative Director at Sarofsky. Since 2017, Coleman has been working closely with the Chicago studio across a range of projects, making his appointment to lead our design capabilities a natural transition.

During this time with the Chicago studio, Patrick has worked directly with manufacturing company Kohler on their identity refresh, played a leading part in Dairly Queen’s animation campaign and worked closely with Samsung on their latest product launch. He leads a multidisciplinary team of artists and works closely with the studio’s regular collaborators such as DDB, Energy BBDO, Leo Burnett and well-known brands such as Daisy Sour Cream and Amazon.

Tracey Khan, Managing Director of The Mill Chicago comments, “We are thrilled to have Patrick join The Mill family. He has been a long-time collaborator of our studio and he will add a tremendous amount of value to our offering. Patrick will help continue to grow and develop our hugely successful design team, pushing for creative excellence, design innovation and searching for even more creative opportunities. I cannot wait to see how the studio will evolve with him at the design helm.”

Patrick Coleman comments, “I’m inspired by The Mill’s wide range of capabilities, talented staff and am thrilled to be joining such a skillful team. I look forward to utilizing the company’s toolkit to continue delivering work to our clients at the highest level of execution.”

In his new role, Patrick will focus on further enhancing our diverse creative output and discovering new ways the design department can utilize the efficiencies of real-time production and machine learning.
