Ryan Gosling has it all: the looks, the talent, a nifty way with song-and-dance; a Tag Heuer Carrera?
Well, according to this fun branded short promoting the watch brand’s 60th anniversary, the slick timepiece is the one thing missing from Gosling’s list of attributes, leading to a dramatic pursuit from an angry prop master.
Created by DDB Paris, produced by David Leitch’s 87 North, and directed by Nash Edgerton through Collider, The Chase For Carrera sees the A-lister enjoyably send himself up in a spoof that not only nods to the action chops of its creators (Leitch cameoing as ‘the director’) but also provides a playful tone to a sector that can often be stuffy and exclusive.
“We wanted to pay homage to this spirit by creating communication that is as bold as the Carrera and goes beyond advertising and beyond traditional watchmaking tropes.” explains Alexander Kalchev, Chief Creative Officer, DDB Paris.
“Ryan brought tons of energy and humour to the film,” adds Edgerton. “I had so much fun shooting his scenes with David and Vanessa, seeing them improvise hilarious dialogue. Making something like this for a high-end brand is really special.”
