Spotlight | Creating retro football kits in 3D with artist Bethan Williams

Community October 5, 2021

During lockdown 3D Generalist Bethan Williams discovered the world of digital fashion, while learning Marvelous Designer (a software for CG artists to model and simulate 3D garments), she searched for tutorials, references and other examples of 3D clothing before stumbling across ‘The Future of Fashion’. She saw that during the pandemic many brands have used digital fashion as a solution for advertising, a few examples being virtual fashion shows, VR experiences and clothing for gaming avatars/characters.

With a football season that’s already seen Ronaldo and Messi swap their kits for the uniform of Manchester United and PSG, Bethan has chosen to get retro and re-imagine a few of the sport’s most classic strips. Check them out below.

Barcelona | 1996

NY Cosmos | 1977
