How did you feel when you found out you’d be working on the LEGO Rebuild the World spot?

Karthik: “I was extremely pleased when I found out I’d be working on this prestigious project, and I thoroughly enjoyed working on the creative post-production.”

Sabanayagam: “Working on LEGO commercials is always a wonderful experience; I am so happy that I was given this opportunity again. Each LEGO ad has a unique cinematic theme in a colourful world!”

What was the process/creative approach like creating this piece of work?

Karthik: “We followed the post production principle process including; advance composting techniques, top-notch computer-generated elements, creative digital matte painting, shoot elements and references.”

Were there any challenges you encountered while creating this spot and what were the creative solutions?

Sabanayagam: “The shot with the construction workers dancing on the building originally featured many railings and safety barriers on the building, so the first step was to prep the plate to add people on the edge of the building. Each crowd plate was shot in different lighting, it was fairly challenging to balance and comp all the elements in the building and match the lighting.”

Can you highlight any unique concepts throughout the ad?

Sabanayagam: “Unique concepts in this job include a seamless smooth transition between the shots, like the transition between the stormtrooper and dragon shot, and the dragon shot was completely recreated with 3D and DMP Environments.”
