Last month our Chicago studio welcomed students from Columbia College for a tour and inside look into the work our artists create. Joining the tour was Peter Pyskacek, faculty member in the Cinema and Television Arts department, who teaches the Color courses at the college.
Mill Colourist Kristopher Smale led the group through informative colour workshops; giving the students an inside look into his creative processes.
In addition to the colour course, our visitors met with Co-Head of 2D/VFX Supervisor Andrew Pellicer who offered insights into the world of 2D.
“It's refreshing to meet people sincerely interested in the craft at the beginning of their journeys. I jump at the chance when anyone lends me their ear to wax poetic about color grading and generally isn't bored by my ramblings. Good luck to everyone on their creative paths!”
“It was great getting to chat with the students from Columbia College and see where their interests are and what kind of questions they had. Students always bring a fresh perspective to what we do and their questions alone can challenge our way of thinking. When I was in college, an industry professional came and spoke about exciting opportunities in the industry that I never knew about and really inspired me to pursue the industry, so I always try and jump at any opportunity to possibly do the same with today's upcoming high school and college grads.”
Thank you to Columbia College for allowing us to meet with its talented students!
