Super Bowl Hall of Fame | Classic Comedies

Over recent years we have been involved in a roster of exciting Super Bowl campaigns, but nothing quite matches the joy given by a classic comedy. That burst of laughter, sudden shock, or even bewilderment. We've compiled a list of some of our favourite Super Bowl comedies, that we’ve worked on. Check them out below!
Work February 7, 2022

State Farm ‘Reboot’ (2020)

Who remembers the days of the OG Jake from the earlier State Farm ads? We certainly do. Back with a reboot, State Farm dropped this ad ‘Reboot’ for Super Bowl LIV, featuring the one and only, original Jake. This heavy-hitting bit of nostalgia is the best cameo we’ve seen in a long time, and we think you’ll agree.

Snickers ‘Marilyn‘ (2016)

In this iteration of the brand’s global ‘You’re Not You When You’re Hungry’ campaign, the 2016 spot put a modern twist on the iconic dress scene from ‘The Seven Year Itch’. As the spot opens, we see Willem Dafoe as a hungry, and therefore cranky, Marilyn Monroe™. The starlet is only transformed back into her usual self after receiving a Snickers bar to satisfy her hunger.

Amazon ‘Alexa Loses Her Voice’ (2018)

Special reinforcements are called in when the unthinkable occurs in Amazon’s hilarious Super Bowl LII commercial, ‘Alexa Loses Her Voice’. We collaborated with Lucky Generals and Wayne McClammy of Hungry Man to create the spot, which features a 100% CG peacock crafted by The Mill’s 3D artists.

Cheetos ‘Can’t Touch This’ (2020)

Inspired by the MC Hammer classic hit “Can’t Touch This”, the brand highlighted how Cheeto dusted fingers can get someone out of just about anything, from helping friends move, to contributing to a work project, to holding a crying baby.

Rocket Mortgage ‘Comfortable’ (2020)

This hilarious ad saw famed Aquaman actor, Jason Mamoa, relaxing in the comfort of his own home. As with all great things, not everything is as it seems, especially when Momoa is away from the watching eye.

Tide ‘The Jason Alexander Hoodie’ (2021)

Tide’s campaign for Super Bowl LV saw a teen owning a hoodie emblazoned with Alexander’s face. But, as all teenage boys do, he struggles to take good care of it. The hoodie suffers through dog drool, dirty gym socks and even getting sat on by its owner. This spot is packed with humorous content, start to finish.

Snickers ‘Brady Bunch’ (2015)

Danny Trejo and his axe play a hungry and therefore, grumpy Marcia Brady. “Eat a Snickers!” proclaims Carol Brady, and alas, the real Marcia returns. She’s as happy as her usual Marcia Brady self but this has led to an angry Jan Brady, played by a very hungry Steve Buscemi.

Tide ‘It’s a Tide Ad’ (2018)

There’s no subtlety in Tide’s hilarious campaign for Super Bowl LII. The Mill collaborated with Saatchi & Saatchi and Directors Traktor of Rattling Stick to craft ‘It’s a Tide Ad’. Complete with a cameo of blockbuster actor David Harbour, the spots feature a fresh, unmistakable look in each frame.

Rocket Mortgage ‘Certain Is Better’ (2020)

You can be certain that in this campaign, Tracy Morgan’s appearance is going to have you on the edge of your seat with laughter.

Uber Eats ‘Waynes World’ (2021)

Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, the legends of the hit comedy Wayne’s World return one last time, but this hilarious Uber Eats ad. The big-screen skit includes no other than global sensation, Cardi B. The pair have reunited to ask viewers to eat local on behalf of Uber Eats, and they couldn’t have done it in a more comical way.
