Technicolor | Supporting Covid relief efforts in India

News May 13, 2021

The devastating surge in COVID-19 cases in India has meant that the country has been facing almost 400,000 new cases each day, with our own colleagues and their families directly affected by the second wave of the virus.

Last week, Technicolor took steps to further ensure the health, safety, and support of employees, including:

  • Adding to and expanding on existing healthcare benefits for employees and their families, so that, if needed, there is no concern our colleagues will receive the best care in these challenging circumstances;
  • Working to facilitate access to vaccines for those who want them when they become available (at the moment there is a large vaccine shortage across India);
  • Working closely with local and regional resources to explore additional means of support as and when they become available.

At Technicolor, the outpouring of support for our colleagues internally has been extensive. After consultation on the immediate needs, the company decided to partner with Oxfam India, an NGO Technicolor has had a long-term relationship with, to provide immediate on-the-ground community support. A contribution to Oxfam India means you would be supporting their COVID initiatives to:

  • Distribute PPE and safety kits and install equipment at government institutions (hospitals/health centers)
  • Work with policymakers to ensure the COVID-19 vaccine is purchased at true cost prices
  • Provide food to the most marginalized and vulnerable communities
  • Provide direct cash transfers to the most marginalized households
  • Impart skill-based, livelihood training for women and self-help groups to help them generate income

If you, friends, or family are interested in donating to Oxfam India, there are dedicated links set up for Technicolor by country. For citizens outside the below countries, please use the India link. The donations qualify for tax exemptions within the given country’s legal framework. Here are the relevant links to donate:

In addition to the employee support mentioned, Technicolor will match donations made via these links, up to a total of €100,000, to support the community which is so critical to the fabric of Technicolor.
