The Mill @ Home | Mental Health Awareness | May 20th

Community May 20, 2020

Welcome to Issue 9 of The Mill @ Home

This week we give special focus to Mental Health Awareness –  an important topic affecting many of us at some point in our lives. This feels especially relevant right now as many of us still face the challenges associated with lockdown, potential isolation from family & friends and general disruption to our everyday lives

It is also Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK – an annual event aiming to encourage everyone to talk more openly about what can often be a difficult or taboo subject. The Mental Health Foundation has chosen the theme of ‘kindness’ because of ‘its ability to unlock shared humanity. Kindness strengthens relationships, develops community and deepens solidarity. It is a cornerstone of our individual and collective mental health. Wisdom from every culture across history recognises that kindness is something that all human beings need to experience and practise to be fully alive’.

Read on for features relating to kindness, community and the brighter side of life. Should any of the topics covered below resonate with you personally and you feel you could use some support, take a look at The APA’s Wellbing Directory here.
