Brief

The MPC team were entrusted with creating a blended world of multiple terrains, creatures and climates through first-class VFX and color grade — all while honoring the rich history and legacy of Toyota’s iconic truck lineage leading up to the reveal of the all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra.

Approach

The worlds were stitched together by flowing camera moves and a stylized dust simulation. The enhancements made by color grading evened out any disparities between shot footage and worked to set a distinct look for each vignette to shape its own identity and geography. Jointly, the The Mill/MPC team pulled off seamless transitions with a wide variety of stunning VFX. Producing the ultimate mosaic of VFX and color, our artists were tasked with creating multiple environments and weather conditions out of footage shot from the California desert including a snowstorm, forest fire, the Australian Outback and the Serengeti. Other key VFX work was the creation, animation and compositing of fully CG animals, and a full recreation of the iconic Tundra-tow of the Space Shuttle Endeavor.

Impact

The film has been viewed over 650,000 times on the brand's YouTube account and was covered extensively within the media, with features in Adweek, Shots, and LBB.
