Karateka

The Mill contributed 118 VFX shots to Karateka, an inspiring sports biopic directed by Aritz Moreno, chronicling the extraordinary journey of Sandra Sánchez, the most successful kata karate athlete in history, portrayed by Andrea Ros.

Produced by Atresmedia Cine, Sr.&Sra. and Karateka AIE, and co-produced by Wrong Men, APACHES ENTERTAINMENT SL and COLOSE PRODUCCIONES SL, Karateka celebrates the determination, discipline, and resilience behind one of the greatest champions in the sport.

The Mill's Film & Series team in Liège delivered 118 visual effects shots, including a technically demanding hero shot running close to three minutes. Working in close collaboration with the filmmakers and production teams, our artists crafted seamless visual effects that supported the emotional and cinematic storytelling while remaining invisible to the audience.

VFX supervision was led by Barthélémy Beaux, with Laurence Hoeters overseeing VFX production, ensuring a smooth collaboration throughout every stage of the project.
