Directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Robert Guédiguian and produced by Agat Films, Une femme aujourd'hui (A Woman Today) follows Juliette.

Juliette, a 30-year-old financial executive who seems to have it all, a prestigious career, a beautiful home, and a life filled with travel and fleeting romances. But when a violent assault by a colleague shatters her world, Juliette embarks on a transformative journey to rebuild her life and reclaim her purpose.

To support Guédiguian’s intimate narrative, The Mill’s Visual Effects team delivered 47 seamless VFX shots, led by VFX Supervisor Lise Fischer and VFX Producer Loriane Lucas.

Rather than drawing attention to themselves, the visual effects were designed to subtly mirror the emotional arc of the protagonist and bring the director's cinematic vision to life. The team crafted bespoke transition effects, realistic fire and burn FX, detailed wound enhancements, and precise compositing throughout the feature.

Une femme aujourd'hui marks our 11th feature film collaboration with Robert Guédiguian, a creative partnership spanning more than a quarter-century.

Our shared history began in 2000 with title sequence design for À l’attaque ! and digital grading & visual effects for La ville est tranquille, followed by Marie-Jo et ses deux amours (2002), Mon père est ingénieur (2004), L’Armée du crime (2009), Les Neiges du Kilimandjaro (2011), Au fil d'Ariane (2014), Une histoire de fou (2015), La Villa (2017), and Gloria Mundi (2019).

Across these iconic films, our teams (previously operating as Mikros Image) have provided a wide array of post-production services, including digital color grading, optical effects, picture assembly, VFX, 35mm film recording, and laboratory services.

With Une femme aujourd'hui, our Film & Series team at The Mill is proud to continue this long-standing relationship and support Guédiguian's powerful storytelling once again.
