The Mill worked with Iconoclast to produce this show-stopping campaign for Burberry's new Goddess Eau de Parfum. The iconic brand's first refillable fragrance debuted alongside rising star, Emma Mackey, Burberry's newest ambassador. The film depicts a story of self-discovery, inspired by the strength and power of a lioness, featuring CG lionesses running alongside Emma through the deserts and grasslands of South Africa and climbing to reach the summit on the rocky outcrops.

The beautiful lionesses were developed and animated by The Mill's CG Supervisor, Kiril Mirkov and Animation Lead, David Bryan, using our creature pipeline. The team enhanced the already stunning landscapes with CG rock-faces and grasses, adding debris and foliage interaction, created by our lionesses. We also trained new machine learning tools in 2D to help relight live action that was filmed at different times and locations. This is definitely some great first steps into the exciting future of what’s possible in VFX production with AI!
