The Mill LA leapt at the opportunity (too many thrilled?) to
join director Andrew Thomas Huang for the newest instalment of the
Icelandic band, Sigur Rós new album, Kveikur.
Directed by Huang, who has also worked with Björk, 'Brennisteinn'
is the first offering from the band to feature Sigur Rós' as a
trio, following the departure of multi-instrumentalist Kjartan
Sveinsson. The epic eight-minute video showcases the talents of
Huang, alongside The Mill+ L.A. team.
"We had the honor of creating Sigur Ros's first official
performance music video ever," says music video director, Andrew
Thomas Huang. "Our task was to create a piece that radically breaks
from their previous work, yet also expands upon the existing legacy
of their music."
'Brennisteinn' is inspired by a raw energy that the band is
drawing from….not new energy, but energy that had been lying
dormant from the beginning waiting to erupt.
"I was thrilled about the opportunity to work with such a talented
up and coming director on such a cool music video," says Mill LA
producer Jess Ambrose. "Andy's vision from start to finish for this
video was creative and refreshing and above all, unique."
